I make sure i drink Isopure by Nature's Best. 40g Protein, 0 carbs, 0 fat, 160 calories (must have calories to have protien). Comes in a 20 oz bottle and many flavors. I get mine from GNC. It's expensive $3-$4 per bottle, but it is worth it. I don't know how I would get all the Protein I need with out it. My Dr. likes me to have about 60g of protien a day.

3 weeks + 1 day post-op today.

248 pre-op, 222 today

Thank you, thank you, thank you for this thread!!! I am pre-op (surgery is Aug 23) and I just stumbled across this thread. I asked the same question elsewhere and got nothing :) Stupid me....probably needed to ask a question about food in a FOOD THREAD!! I am NOT looking forward to my 2 wks of liquid.....but am willing. I was really curious as to any semi-tasty Protein Drinks. The one I tried at my doctor's office was blaaagh! Of course they want me to purchase everything from them. Thanks for sharing some other options! :)

Where do you buy the Matrix 5.0? I am being banded on 8/15, and need to find a Protein drink that is palatable. Thanks.

The best and cheapest place I have found is:

matrix 5.0 list of all sizes and flavors. Find all matrix 5.0 products at AllStarHealth.com

The price is the best I have found as well as shipping. No matter how little or how much you order from there the shipping is the same, $5.95 I think. I love the service as well.

Netrition.com and bariatriceating.com also carry it but they are verrry expensive. Ebay sellers have it but the shipping makes it more expensive than AllStarHealth.com - Vitamins and Nutritional supplements at Discounted Prices.

I prefer the chocolate, most prefer Cookies & Cream. I think C&C is wayyy too sweet, I just don't care for it. Never tried the Orange, and the Vanilla isn't really Vanilla, it's French Vanilla.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
