Hello everyone,

I have just started my Puree foods and can't stand the taste of Gerber baby food. Does anyone have a resource to find decent tasting baby food?

Thanks

Larry

Why are you doing baby food? I did things like cottage cheese, blended tender chicken with cream of chicken Soup, the ricotta bake (this can be found on the world according to egg face blog).

Cottage cheese, yogurt, chicken salad pureed, refried Beans with cheese, etc... There are many tasty options for pureed and soft foods... Step away from the baby food!

My Doctor recommended baby food to ensure there wasn't any solid chunks. As far as the yogurt and cottage cheese, I have become lactose intolerant since the surgery. It causes horrible gas pains and diarrhea. What appliance should I use so there aren't any chunks? I don't want to buy something expensive. I am only going to be eating like this for a week. Thanks

Ircarr, I have a party bullet that I "USED" to make frozen cocktails in. I use it now for food. Any food processor or even a blender will work...if you are worried about the consistency....add some Fluid and then strain it. It's only a week, you got this!

I ate creamed Soups during puree stage. Creamy Tomato bisque w parmesan was my go to. Otherwise i filled up on Protein Shakes and yogurt. I pureed a can of potato Soup. No energy for homemade anything.

Hmm. First time I've heard of a doctor recommending baby food after a sleeve.

I use a Nutra Bullet to puree my food and to make shakes.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
