Forgot what to eat

Recommended Posts

I am over four years out. I recently got married and now have no reason not to slim down (want baby's) but I work super early and cannot remember what I used for Protein in the morning. Help?

For Breakfast, I love scrambling a few eggs with a little shredded cheese and green onion and/or red/green peppers. I might also do a couple of Morningstar soy links with an egg.

Yogurt (greek or other high protein/low sugar) is also good.

Or a smoothie using skim milk, yogurt, throw in a few strawberries and handful of spinach and small banana and you've got something that is portable and tasty and high Protein (just watch the banana/fruit amounts).

And when I'm really lazy, a half cup of cottage cheese with a handful of raspberries is good for me. (but I also eat several small meals a day, so about two hours later, I have a glass of Mootopia - a high Protein, low lactose milk sold by a grocery chain in Texas).

My standard Breakfast is 3 oz of chicken breast. I get the cooked flavored chicken breasts from Trader Joe's. Chop up 3 oz and breakfast is ready in under 2 minutes.

I always just have a Protein Bar for breakfast. I know it's not ideal, but it works so well for my schedule. I was eating Quest Bars, but they recently switched to soluble corn Fiber, which makes me SUPER gassy. So I am now having a Combat Crunch bar every morning.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
