From what I hear, eharmony is for the most long-term success, match is next best, while tinder and PoF are for short-term. I could be wrong as I've only really tried Match.com and PoF (both unsuccessfully but also significantly heavier than I am now).

Am I correct in this? I know that when I begin online dating, I'll probably try eharmony first as a lot of my friends have used it very successfully.

I tried tinder for about 3 days. A million guys but it was like being in a video game...no real life at all!

Match was my worst experience but maybe it is because women outnumbered men on match

@@CowgirlJane - damn good observations, but @@RedJoy86, it depends on your area. Try them out and see. Unfortunatly, I have not been able to see local traffic (that doesn't mean someone on this list may not be able to find it). Depending on your part of VA, you might have great success. The answer to all really good marketing questions is "IT DEPENDS." So experiment and see what works. Play around with your pictures, play around with your profile

@@OutsideMatchInside - I hate to say this, but sometimes you need to go where the guys are. If my assumption is correct that this is a numbers game, then you need to go to where the numbers are and then weed through the ones who are not your type. Surprisingly some of us have had success on "hook up sites" with very decent people (I will not name names, but I do have it on very good authority that it is possible). I'm not saying it's easy, but you need to go where the guys are and then cull the heard to get to the quality beef...eh guys. IMHO

I went out on a date tonight and told the guy I used to be overweight and he's like- haha very funny. Yeah I'm sure you were like a cute 150 chubby pounds. Not like you were, 200 pounds or something crazy obese like that!! Ha ha hargh hargh.

Ha ha ha. Dumb ass. Try 250. Har har. God!! Jeeeeeeeze.

@@bellabloom - Strange I only mention it to people I give permission to google me. Only reason I mention is because there are a bunch of images and videos which show me much bigger and I don't want them to get confused as to what is current.

Don't even mention it until the third date. I think I'm pretty spot on. It's just tough to imagine dating someone one that was at one time that heavy. Even though it's not you now, it will be alarming until someone really gets to know you. In my case I "only lost 90" that's not alarming, that's pretty good. Feel free to disagree but that is my unsolicited advice for the night.

@@OKCPirate Oh I don't know if I would even say anything for awhile if I was serious about someone. I can barely believe I was that heavy.

@@Daveo - I can't believe I was as big as I was. It's all relative. But the reality is we were, BUT the reality is we EMBRACED CHANGE and we did change. Celebrate that. Celebrate life. And enjoy the celebration.

Yeah. I can't really blame the guy. I'm super tiny now it's hard to imagine. :) I wouldn't have a problem with it myself. But of course I get it!

Anyway I'm rather attracted to overweight men.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
