When I finally was given permission to eat cottage cheese, I made sure it was low-fat and I didn't puree it. I did however "thin it out" with 2% Fairlife milk. Now at five weeks out, I just eat it as is from the container. Haven't had issues with it either way.

I am only allowed full liquids until day 14, but I have been thinking about plain cottage cheese as my first soft food because it is delicious! ♡????

I didn't have cottage cheese until day 17 and that was the start of my pureed. I follow my guidelines and puree all of the food I eat; cottage cheese, canned tuna/chicken/turkey, Beans, veggies. There is a reason why we have stages to follow so why push it and not puree? I have the rest of my life to chew and at this point my stomach is still healing, I need to let it do so.

pureed cottage cheese with fruit? Can that be a thing in that stage?

I love peaches and cottage cheese.

I was ok'd to advance to phase two on Day 7- the first step was sugar free yogurt, cottage cheese or sugar free applesauce for 2-5 days than continue.

I had no trouble with small curd 1% cottage cheese. It was yummy! ????

@@Tssiemer1 Pureeing cottage cheese with (canned in its own juice or no sugar added) fruit should be fine. Just make sure you use canned fruit, not regular fruit, as regular fruit is not going to puree as well (needs to be really soft).

Note what you will end up with will be essentially flavored cottage cheese sauce, but if that works for you, great.

Also note that because the volume of actual cottage cheese you will be eating will be lower (some of that volume is now fruit), the Protein you will be consuming will be lower than if you didn't add fruit.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
