Elode 8,093 Posted October 11, 2015 @@Fabiana87 I'm not sure what your doing are you talking about a two week pre-op diet or something else? I did the pre-op diet to shrink my liver but I just called it a pre-op diet so it may not be the same as you. I was allowed 4 Protein Shakes, SF Jello ,popsicles & broth. That's it so it was pretty easy for me since I didn't have any choices.
Fabiana87 18 Posted October 11, 2015 Its a high Protein low carb diet? @@Elode but no sweets..caffeine...rice...pasta.....etc
Elode 8,093 Posted October 11, 2015 @@Fabiana87 oh then that's different than what I did. If that's all you're eating then that's not enough. You may have got 40 grams of Protein out of all of that IF your drinking a high protein option. I would drink a few more Protein Drinks or add some low carb options And lean meats like fish, turkey & chicken. After surgery you are going to want to eat protein first so you may as well focus on that now. You can find a ton of recipes online. Try eating a few small protein Snacks between small meals if you need to like cheese and turkey roll ups, a few natural almond, they sell P3 snacks at Walmart that have small portions of meat, cheese and nuts in them. Watch your sodium intake though. Processed meats have a lot of sodium normally. I usually go to the deli and ask for low sodium options. I actually prefer them because they taste more like meat and not over processed. I would call your nutritionist and see what exactly your suppose to be eating as far as calories ect... Dub 9,922 Posted October 11, 2015 My pre-op is only 3-5 Protein shakes and non-calorie liquids. I could chew threw a chain link fence right now to eat a salmon fillet or a can of tuna.< /p>
