Mega_100 146 Posted October 10, 2015 Today I'm going to a wedding and I am in the midst of my pre-op diet. I'm not telling anyone but family about my surgery. Anyone have any good tips? I've determined I can drink liquids in a highball glass and add a lime wedge or something, so my friends don't pester me about being pregnant. But the dinner I'm absolutely at a loss and not sure how to handle that.
BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted October 10, 2015 Eat the salad and Soup if available. Decline everything else.
4MRB4PHOTO 3,900 Posted October 10, 2015 Go lightly on the appetizers and make intelligent choices. Eat your lean Protein and veggies and very little of your starches. Eat lightly for the other 2 meals that day. No one will even notice, but if someone comments, just tell them that you have an upset stomach. They won't ask you for any more details once they hear that.
Debbieduck4 399 Posted October 10, 2015 Use the ole' "stomach issues" line... works like a charm every time. No one on this planet wants to talk in depth to anyone about "stomach issues." As for your eating, I don't know what your pre-op diet consists of but mine was Protein Shakes and one low-cal meal... Make your low-cal meal at the wedding. Best of luck today and on your surgery! Mega_100 146 Posted October 10, 2015 Sorry, should have mentioned that my preop diet is liquids only. Stomach issues is a good one though. Hopefully no one notices (no alcohol + stomach problems = pregnancy assumptions).

Nosey people + Asking you about why you aren't eating - You answering to them "I have very bad diarrhea" = No more questions.

sleever54 8 Posted October 10, 2015 My nitritionist said it was OK to eat for a special lunch I had but to make it Atkins meal. Protein and veggies only. It worked and I list pre..op. unless you are 2 days from surgery then you'll need to stick to liiquids. Good luck
