juno5 30 Posted October 9, 2015 I am in month 4 out of 6 for nutrition appointments and I just think this is a waste. I keep asking about numbers and how much Protein, carbs and fats and calories I should be striving towards...she just keeps telling me to follow the food pyramid and my plate methods... Had anyone had better information given to you by your NUT? I have only lost 5 pounds in 4 months....feeling like I am wasting my time with the NUT. I just wish she would offer more guidance.... Seahawkgirl 129 Posted October 9, 2015 Try using myfitnesspal.com. It's great because it will give you targets for fat/carbs/protein, etc. You can track your exercise and even how much Water you are drinking. It really helped me when I was doing my six month plan! You can even download it as an ap on your phone.
BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted October 9, 2015 I only had one 2 or 3 hour nutrition class to take. They discussed portion sizes, the importance of drinking water/fluids, to get isolates, not concentrates and recommendations on things like getting smaller utensils and plates. However I met with the nutritionist at every pre-op appointment (3 in total) and I continue to meet with her at every post-op appointment. She always reviews my food log and offers feedback. Pre-op the recommendations I was given were regarding finding a Protein drink that met my dietary challenges (Vegetarian and severe food allergies), to keep my calories under 1200 and increase my Protein intake. Post-op the discussion surrounded how many calories I should be eating at various stages as spelled out in my program guidebook. Carbs were never discussed and the only mention of sugars was to keep them low.
