ange117 93 Posted October 8, 2015 My bariatric center does not recommend any specific brands of Vitamins, as long as you meet your daily recommended amounts. I'm really looking to try the costco vitamins for cost efficiency and convenience. I know lots of people here talk about using them. Which ones do you recommend? Do you prefer the name brand or kirkland? Do they actually seem to measure up to the bariatric-specific manufacturers?
Cindy2013 99 Posted October 8, 2015 I just purchased the Kirkland brand at costco. The one I chose is Performance Multi Energy Formula. It seems to have all the required Vitamins, except I also take a Calcium and Vitamin D supplement. I was told to take 1,500mg of Calcium daily and this only has 165mg.This particular Vitamin contains Panax Ginseng Extract, which is supposed to be good for inflammation, weight loss, and energy. I have been taking it for a few days and I feel much improved. It does make my urine very yellow though. I was told that any Multi-Vitamin is okay, so I don't buy the expensive stuff. My previous multi was from Walgreens, and I ran out a few weeks ago. I got real sluggish and just felt crappy, so I'm excited to see that this one is helping me now. My advice, try it before buying the bariatric ones. Save your money for a new wardrobe!
TristanNicole 169 Posted October 8, 2015 I'm biting the bullet and buying bariatric Vitamins off of Amazon, atleast to start out. I was going to get them from costco but they didn't have any plain chew able ones for post op and my surgeons office advised against getting the gummies because they have calories and I guess they aren't as effective as chew able tablets (thats just what I've heard, no idea if its true). I do plan to start getting my Vitamins from costco once I can get tabs/caps I can swallow... which I believe is 8 weeks out.
