I had 40 staples from my open bypass surgery although removing them was not painful just slightly uncomfortable I ended up with an infection and 6 weeks post op I'm still sore and healing ...

like a tiny little pinch, not bad at all. the drain, WHOLE different story. not "pain", but a really bizare, super uncomfortable sensation.
