I had the sleeve 22 months ago. I attend support groups at least once a month, plus I see a psychologist, exercise and I have a large support system. I hope you can attend support groups. For me the support is key. I know I could not do this alone. I hope your husband will realize you will be healthier and probably happier. What is he afraid of? This is life changing. I can do things I could not do before. I wish you all the best.

Those look tasty! @@pr_pitbullgrl

I cooked dinner for the family and decided to just eat what I ate. Worked for me and my sleeve agrees. 2 oz baked chicken thigh, steamed broccoli with some light shredded cheese and a half baked potato. It barely fit.

I definitely have to shred it to teeny pieces and make it moist with a sauce, tonight it was a splash of Teriyaki sauce.

This will help me with my lunch dilemma when I go back to work if I can just take a small portion to freeze for a future lunch.< /p>

Protein cake with fat free cool whip and a smidge of cream cheese.

It was very good but a little dry. Little hard for me to eat or I'm still taking too big a bite

Yes, this is something that I am trying to do better with too. I am doing better chewing longer but I need to put the fork down in between bites to slow me down.

I tried the re fried Beans topped with fine chopped chicken, low fat cottage cheese, salsa (hot). Fantastic. I too have to take a bite and put the fork down on the plate. If I eat to fast I start to feel that burppy feeling and that means Mr. Sleeve is wanting me to stop. Thanks for sharing your dinner menus with me. Going to get some turkey pepperoni tonight.

Hunger pangs?. Why am I starting to feel hungry?. I mean it's fine as far as it only takes three bites of something to make it go away and I don't really have an appetite/cravings but...i wasn't expecting to feel hunger anymore.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
