I'm almost 5 weeks out and I've been drinking Premier Protein, but everyday that goes by, they make me more nauseous. I threw up this morning. I have some Unjury powder that I put in my Crystal Lite, but the consistency makes me sick. I know I'm being picky. Where do you get Syntrax Nectar? I need something that will go in my Crystal Lite that doesn't make it too thick. What are some good options? I can't get enough Protein from food yet. When can you eat Protein Bars?

Have you tried unflavored Protein? I found one on Amazon that is an unflavored whey isolate that I make smoothies with in the morning. I used vanilla flavored whey isolate for three weeks pre-op and for eight weeks after surgery and I couldn't tolerate it by the end of the eighth week. I am now making smoothies using oj or milk, fresh fruit and frozen berries and it goes down real smooth. You have to be careful regarding carbs, especially from the fruit, but my stomach can handle the Protein again.

Try Protein waters like the Syntrax Nectar or Isopure nocarb drinks. You can buy them either online or at Vitamin stores like GNC and Vitamn Shoppe. If the drinks are too thick, add Water or serve over ice.

@@sbagby1960 - your stomach should be healed, so protien bars shouldn't be a problem. Run by GNC and try Isopure. 40g per bottle. Not everyone likes it but it might work for you.

Could you freeze it and make something like a pudding pop? I can't handle anything thick unless it's frozen. I also can't do anything 'sugar free'. Good luck & hope you find a fix. I tried Special K strawberry Protein Bar (meal bar) and it was very tasty. I ate half and my husband ate half.

If it is a consistency of the drink issue, I would add more Water. Doesn't matter how much water you add, as long as you drink it. I make my daily Protein Shakes with 24 oz of water instead of the 8 oz they suggest. I don't like it at a thick consistency, so that helps me,

I have been using the unjury strawberry lemonade powder in my Water bottle. It was fine the first few days but now the sweetness is nauseating to me. This morning I mixed it with greek yogurt and coconut milk in a smoothie and it was MUCH more tolerable. I think the thicker consistency helped me. The powder in nothing but Water was just yucky.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
