What's normal for 7.5 weeks out

Is it normal to still have a hard time eating and getting Water in? I'm still tired. I constantly take pictures to remind myself. My team said I would still be shopping in the same section force of habit I guess.

@@lachellove - no, I don't think it is. I think you need to really check what you are eating and drinking. You should be up and running again. We are all different, but that's a long time IMHO

I had a hard time at that point all the way through 3 months when they finally figured out I had a stricture. Are you able to keep food and liquids down?

I'm 8 weeks and haven't had any problems like that. I can eat too much, if anything! I have to focus to get all the fluids in, but I usually manage. Maybe talk to your team?

Is it hard to drink or is it just hard to drink the amount they want? I will say this - At 2 months, I was very tired of Water so i had a hard time drinking it. As long as I flavored it, it seems to go down better.

I use the following to make Water more interesting:

1-2 sliced of cucumber

crystal light

miyo meyo... or sugarless water flavor

Decaf tea - and then make it iced. My favorite is a blackberry from Target (in the KCups)

Hard to drink the amount they want ..this is the thing I don't tolerate water anymore it feels weird I love it so I keep trying ..I drink Powerade zero propel zero and crystal lite packs added to the water but I was told it didn't count that 64oz needed to be majority water

Someone told you wrong about fluids. Powerade Zero, propel Water, etc DO count as fluids. As long as you are getting 64 oz of that, you are fine. In fact at your point, I think I was only getting 50 - 55 oz. If you are trying to drink those things plus 64oz of water, no wonder you are frustrated.

someone did tell you wrong that all counts to your fluids! so looks like you might be doing good, i was sleeved around the same time as you - i'm full of energy can manage fluids and most foods, have to be careful not to eat too fast, the weight loss has picked up a little the last week or so from the extreme slowness i had for about 4 weeks.

a normal day for me of food looks like 1 Optifast Meal Replacement bar (soy based) - so 1/3 of all minerals and Vitamins in that +19grams of Protein. maybe a few slices of ham on a lite cracker bread thing (22 cals), an egg or some chicken with a little lite mayo and a few bites of veggies.

I will eat a bite of two of cake if it's a birthday or something, drink wise not a huge fan now of plain Water so i flavor is with calorie free stuff or like you if on the run i get a Powerade Zero.

Thank you so much in that case I'm good on fluids lol .. I ate slower and felt a little better I just have to get up and get active ... Energy low I might need to up my Protein intake ..

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
