2 weeks liquid nearly done! Confused as to what to eat next

Recommended Posts

My two weeks of liquid are nearly done, Saturday being my first day of puréed food ????????

But I really have no idea what to eat! I work Monday to Friday and have no heating up facility at my workplace. I have been taking shakes and buying Soups from a local food shop.

What did you eat during this stage?

All I can think of is sweet potato mash, avocado and baby food! But I can't eat that for two weeks.

Is tuna ok?

Without a microwave we will need to be more creative. Can you do a Protein shake with fruit blended in for lunch? I lived on bear creek broccoli cheese pureed Soup, pureed refried Beans with hot sauce, and had mashed potatoes a couple of times. I would stay away from tuna during this stage, I think that's considered to be more of the soft food stage and you don't want to do anything to irritate your band. You made it through the toughest part so just remember this is only temporary but the success is life long. You can do this!!!!

@@enjoythetime thank you for the encouragement! I am going to ask the local cafe if they will warm up my food for me, I was a

Very loyal customer prior to the band.

With heating facilities available what would you recommend?

Is a baked potato to solid?

@@carla1869 As far as the baked potato goes I would probably error on the side of caution and stick with mashed instead. I only say that because today 2 1/2 years post-op I have a hard time getting baked potatoes to go down without a slight stuck episode of course everyone is different and you may not experience this but for some reason I have issues with it but not mashed, weird I know.

For food choices it really depends on what you can stand to think of as being pureed. I know people will make chili and vegetable beef Soup and then and puree it but for me I can't stomach the thought of meat being pureed........I would just stick with the Tomato, broccoli and cheese Soups and refried Beans were my saving grace during this period, not much variety I know but again it's only for a few days. Let me know if you have any other question I will be glad to help if I can.

Thanks guyys!

Think I will stick to porridge and mash! Just scared that my diet might end up being carb heavy in those two weeks. So i will keep up with the Soups I have been eating alread.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
