I am just over 6 months post op and doing well. I have lost about 80 pounds and built a lot of muscle. I work out very regularly and at a very intense level.

My problem is that I carried most of my weight in my stomach, so when I run or jump, the excess skin slaps me. It is painful as well. I actually look worse while exercising now, than I did when it was full of fat. At least then, it didn't flop so much. I am not far enough out for surgery to be an option and haven't really had an skin irritation issues. Its just so painful when I am running or jumping that my excess skin bounces so violently. I wear compression gear, but that doesn't really seem to do much.

Does anyone have any suggestions to make it more comfortable?

I am still losing inches and can't afford to invest a lot of money in clothes that will only fit for a little while. Coincidentally, it is very hard to find pants because of the excess skin. Any advice is appreciated.

Maidenform makes some fabulous control leggings. They are only $14 on Amazon. I mean, they fit amazing and really look cute. I wear them under tunics and dresses, but they would make great workout wear. I am sad they only come in black... I would buy a pair in other colors. They aren't semi-sheer when you bend over like some are : ) Maybe try a pair of those, and a compression tank over the top, and the double layer would provide enough control and support.

THIS ! I make sure all my workout gear has compression in it. My swimsuits have tummy control and my pants and tops are all compression wear. It makes all the difference in the world.

The yoga pants I can usually find on sale. Kohls, Lane Bryant clearance, Just my size, etc...

My swimsuits, I am going through about every 3 months or so. The last 2 I have purposely purchased a bit snug to give me some room to lose. Once I out grow this currently one I may try to see them as a WLS package. They run about $50 each. I prefer them because they have built in bra, tummy support and do not fade or wear thin like other suits.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
