I had mine 3 weeks ago today. It was two hours from the time I checked in until the time I walked out. Wife says actual procedure was less than 10 minutes.

I scheduled mine first thing in the morning last Tuesday.

I was the first one there at 6:00am....they had me ready to roll into the room in no time. The longest wait was for the doctor to arrive.

The procedure itself was a non-event. No biggie.

Lay down on your back....elevate the head end of the bed and then roll onto your left side....warm blanket over. 4 deep breaths..............and it was over. Woke up feeling excellent like no time had passed.

Zero hangover feeling later on, however, I did catch myself nodding off at times without control. There is a huge reason that you aren't allowed to drive to/from the procedure.

My advice is to schedule yours for the very earliest time slot available.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
