What stage were you three week post op?

Recommended Posts

I am almost three week post op and am cleared for soft food. I feel like I am able to eat a little of anything if i chew very well. In fact, I haven't had issues with ANY type of foods. I have triedsoft veggies, mashed chicken, eggs etc. Is this normal? ? And would love to know what were you eating 3 weeks post op.

Thanks

I can only eat a very small amount though. Like 2-3oz. is my limit. How about you? I started at 234 .. My surgery was on 9/14 and I'm now 216-218.

@@Kikiboy my surgery was 9/16, and SW was 285, went down to 260 lb. But haven't lost a single lb in almost six days. As far as food, I have tried a lil bit of all kinds of foods, and everything is going down perfect. Is actually kind of scary, that I don't feel any different when I am eating

I can only eat about 1/4 cup of anything. Are you getting enough Water & Protein in? I started at 234 & this morning my weight was 215. They say only weigh once a week at the same time of day. I'm a little obsessed with the scale though. Like I get on it every day. ???? kikiboy is my cat. I am female 53 yrs old

At week 3 I was on pureed foods. I was eating pureed chicken with broth mixed in, cottage cheese w/applesauce, pureed beef stew cooked very tender, well cooked and pureed veggies, scrambled eggs, pureed or mashed Beans, etc. Nothing seemed to bother me, but the denser the Protein the less I could eat of it. Cottage cheese went down way easier than beef stew. I even pureed Wendy's chili.

I am puzzled by your question. If you are cleared for soft foods then you should only be trying to eat soft foods. I was allowed canned chicken for my fourth week (when I could add soft mechanical foods).

Otherwise, if it's on your list of allowed foods then you should be able to eat it.

Are you saying you are eating allowed foods and not having a problem or that you are eating off of your plan?

I was told, I can eat anything that can be cut with a fork. So basically anything that's cooked soft and moist.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
