I was shopping for items I would need post-op and picked some up with my other items. I so thankful for people posting what has been helpful for them.

The Smooth Move tea definitely works. Too bad they all taste like licorice. My favorite however was the chocolate. I put it in hot chocolate to help disguise the flavor.

Does Smooth Move tea help like a stool softener would? Going #2 has been painful of late and I hate taking stool softener.

I've been backed up while on my pre-op liquid diet. I tried a softener and magnesium tablets (my usual help) with no response, then the Smooth Move tea 2 nights in a row with no help either. Finally had to resort to magnesium citrate. Now I'm having the SM daily to try and prevent it again.

@@Margie122 it is a natural laxative. It definitely loosens up everything. I will probably drink it a few nights a week for preventative measures. I'm 2.5 weeks post op and #2 has been a struggle for me as well.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
