Florida banders?

Recommended Posts

Anyone know of a lapband dr that will do fills that didn't initially do the surgery? Someone closer to tampa/Wesley chapel area? My dr is completely disinterested in any of his patients ( I say any bc ive spoken to alot of his patients that say the same thing ) we come to our appts pay 350$ for a fill , he walks in 10 min. Does the fill and walks straight out of the room. No questions. No small talk no nothing. I want someone that motivates me. Helps me reach my goal. Or just talks to me!! Any reccomendations will be great!!

I go to Pinellas county but live in tampa. My surgeon charges 150 for a fill or unfilled and 50$ for an office visit/ weigh in. I just saw him on Monday and I'm deciding to give him another try. He started me on a 2 week liquid diet and then going for a fill.

I have not posted in a while, but I saw this post and thought I would chime in. Dr. Rhenke and his staff are great. I think keeping the followup appointments, even when I don't have any issues has helped keep me on track.

That's my dr. They have no support system at all for their pts.. the nurse is so ahhh whatever towards her pts which is not good. I call & ask a question and always get a ohh you'll be fine response. Do you have ins? They've never sched me for any follow up only call if you need anything.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
