Emily_35 10 Posted October 2, 2015 I just wanted to take a quick second to warn my fellow peers with tiny tummies that there is a very bad stomach virus going around. I live in Dallas and had the pleasure of catching it, I was out for about 4 days and couldn't eat. I felt bloated, nauseous, and oddly full when I tried to force feed myself. You also get the regular things that come with stomach viruses, but I don't need to spell that out for you guys. I was worried I'd end up in the hospital seeing we rely on our Protein and Vitamins so much, but somehow I have pulled through. So please wash your hands and/or use hand sanitizer like crazy. My coworkers who have regular tummies were out about 2-3 days, so please take care of yourselves.

allyray 108 Posted October 3, 2015 I've often wondered how we deal with the stomach flu with our drastically reduced stomach size!
Emily_35 10 Posted October 3, 2015 If any of you had your surgeries here in the states and can ask your doctors office that would be good to know going forward. I just happened to have been unlucky and caught a cold and that nasty stomach virus, but I had my surgery in Mexico. And really once he's done with you, you're on your own. I used to always catch a tummy bug if anyone around me had one, I really hope that has changed now. I'm still recouping.
VSGAnn2014 12,992 Posted October 3, 2015 Yup, it bit me, too, about 4 weeks ago. Happily, it was only a two-day experience. But it did scare me. On Day One I thought about going to the hospital (worried I might have some horrible deer tick disease), but on Day Two I realized it was only an intestinal bug. BTW, I ate only 400 calories the day I came down with it -- and that's the least I've eaten since my first week post-op.
