Insurance approved! 10/19 is surg date/would love a buddy!

Recommended Posts

This all happened so quickly! I had my first appt on 8/28, and now surg on 10/19! I am feeling every emotion possible. This is a big step for me, and something I have dreamed about for 20 years!! (maybe lots more). I was not required by insurance to take more than one nutrition class, so I feel like I'm missing out on some good info. I would love a buddy!

Hi all! I 2as sleeved on 10/27 and right now I'm in phase 2, which is all liquids. I start phase 3 on sunday. That is soft, mushy Proteins. Can't wait to get to phase 3, it'll be real food. Right now I'm living on Water, hot tea, Protein Shakes, and high Protein hot cocoa. I want to chew something! How is everyone doing on their diets??

I had my surgery on 10/19 as well! I just started phase 3. I would love to connect with people that had surgery on the same date, I haven't even considered that til I read your post. I would like to know how you are and where you are in your process (as well as the other's who have posted stating they are interested in a buddy and had surgery around the same time we did). I've lost 25 lbs so far but I was required to do the 2 week pre-surgery liquid diet. I look forward to hearing from you all!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
