I am at a loss.

On Tuesday, I can start 'soft foods', but it doesn't really explain what soft foods are. Everything it gave as an example looks like pureed.< /strong>

Can you give me some recipes or what you ate for soft foods?

Can I eat meat now like ground meat/turkey?

I am already eating chicken/fish mashed up.

I guess now I don't have to mash it up/puree it?

Any guidance into this would be amazing!

Thank you in advance!

My plan was similar. I could also have banana or canned fruit mashed up, mashed potato or sweet potato, well cooked veggies such as carrots or green Beans, even ground beef.

My team's rule was that soft foods are foods you can easily cut with a fork. However, I was not allowed grains, sweets, or starchy veggies no matter how soft they might be! So no potatoes or oatmeal or anything like that for me.

You can make a chili using ground turkey and soft vegetables and Beans for extra Protein. There a bunch on YouTube that are great. I started with the chili and have been making it regularly.

Just add ground turkey to the above recipe.

Mine was on Sept 16th.

But you should have some guidelines from your Doctor.

Every Doctor is different. Some might want you on full liquids still. Some might let you do pureed, but eat anything you want.

Follow that 'cause I don't wanna give you bad advice.

When did you have your surgery? I just had mine on 9/29 and trying to figure out how to eat(drink) again.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
