Multi chewable vitamin

Recommended Posts

I couldn't find one that wasn't disgusting. I used Flinstones Complete and took double the dosage for the first month post op. After that I started with regular Multi Vitamins.< /p>

I take Trader Joe's High Potency chewable multi's. They taste fine, are cheaper, lower calorie, and lower carb than virtually every other Vitamin out there. My labs have always been great.

My surgeon is very specific about wat I can take. He says Flintstones are a huge no no as well as gummies Centrum and one a day and generic store brands. He says it makes him frustrated that these Vitamins are even sold bc they are a waste of money and have no ground in being rated highly for purity and quality. He only approves of optisource, Celebrate BA and GNC .

I started taking these this week.

They taste pretty good, kind of a berry flavor.

Sometimes they have a bit of a bitter aftertaste, but I can live with it. :-)

I hated the Bariatric Advantage multivitamin too. I use the ProCare bariatric chewable in citrus and find that it tastes okay, but now that I've gotten permission to swallow pills I'm just trying to use what I have left before I buy some regular caplets.

I use building blocks Vitamins, they're a bit pricey but I like the way they taste. chocolate flavor was ok, but black raspberry was my favorite. Celebrate sent me a box of samples for $3... Pretty sure they still do that, they're not bad but I like building blocks vitamins better, they come in bundles and separates. Multi, anti ox, Calcium and Iron cost about $65 and you get them the next day. Hope this helps !

I take Bariactiv but it looks like you can only get them with Nascobal prescription. I like them, I take them on an empty stomach all the time no issues.

I took Celebrate in strawberry pineapple flavor - I did fine with them the first week but by the second week they started giving me awful reflux, and then they started making me gag. I was just cleared to take capsules so I switched to Bariatric Advantage.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
