The orientation will include the nutrition class. Then you will get appointments to meet with the surgeon and psychologist ( separately). When you meet goal weight ( surgeon will tell you what that is), you will get to make your appointment with the case manager. During that meeting, you will schedule surgery and she will sign you up for the final two classes and physical ( all same day). She will give u instructions for blood work, ECG and any other labs/tests they want you to have based on your medical history.

Congrats hlzg1224! I'm going on week 4 since my seminar and referral. Unfortunately I think S. Sac has me last in their "triage" queue. I call every few days, per their request, and I'm still not up on the list for the orientation. I've been feeling so de-motivated by this.

What city do you live in? Richmond had a lot of availability. That would be discouraging im sorry. Hugs to you <3

I live in Sacramento, so I'm waiting on the South Sacramento office. I would travel to Richmond if they made that an option. Thank you :)

Just wondering if anyone had to provide documentation of trying to loose weight in the last two years? I read they require documentation.

i was similar... just pcos, hypothyroidism and being overweight. it was a fast process for me. I wasn't required to show andy documentation of trying to lose weight, but i had a conversation with my dr before she made the referral about my weight loss efforts and i imagine they made their way into my medical records.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
