Had my Psychological Evaluation on Saturday

Recommended Posts

I thought it went really well. They said to set aside about an hour but the whole thing was about 26 minutes.

The woman was very nice. I assume it went flawlessly because when we were saying goodbye she said I hope your surgery goes well and good luck! I wasn't really too worried to start with because I think my heads in the right place regarding surgery but that is one more requirement done.

She also mentioned this site as a place I could come for re-enforcement and information. I told her I was already a member!

Well I think you can add passing the psych eval as an NSV! :-)

My eval lasted about 3 hours.

2 1/2 of which I spent filling out the questionnaire.

I don't know if it was part of the eval or not, but they didn't provide any desks or tables to write on.

So me and the other 2 guys were sitting there, trying to hold the clipboard/pencil in one hand and hold the 40 page questionaire in the other!

Talk about a pain. I was pissed they did that to us!

My evaluation went great. He told me I was fun and had a great head in my shoulders. He actually visited me in the hospital after my surgery and gave me a kiss on the cheek lol we do things differently in San Francisco Lmmfao

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
