ange117 93 Posted October 7, 2015 That's what slowed me up in my process. I have asthma and took a pulmonary function test, passed it. Pulm doc wouldn't clear me STILL til i had a sleep study. Did one at home with the machine and voila turned out i had mild sleep apnea. I don't snore but my oxygen levels drops a few times a night. Now I'm on a cpap machine. Had to use it a month before he finally cleared me. I'm finally done all that and now waiting for my surgery date on nov 16. I know you're anxious to start your new life but these steps need to be taken for your safety. Immediately after surgery I'll be on a bipap machine to keep my o2 level. Everything is for a reason. ☺ it'll all happen for you in time. Oh, I'm in no way resentful that they want the tests--in fact, I feel better knowing more about my health going into this. I was just worried that my lack of symptoms would cause insurance to deny the test and I'd get caught in a loop of needing a test, but not being able to get it covered. If it turns out I do have sleep apnea, it'll be all the more motivation to follow the rules and get this weight off. I'm 26; I want to know what healthy feels like. Tssiemer1 549 Posted October 7, 2015 I'm getting a little anxious. We're shooting for my surgery to be nov 23rd but the sleep center hasn't called to set up me getting the home equipment. IF I have sleep apnea I need to get a lab test and THEN wear the cpap for a month. I don't think we're going to make it.
