Hooty Hoo 18 pounds gone forever!

Recommended Posts

So ok, I am at my one week mark from my surgery. I am finally dealing with what my body is going through after asking myself earlier in the week why I had banded myself and caused this kind of pain to myself. I am a baby when it comes to nasuea. Now 7 days later I am feeling so much better. Still trying to overcome the gas pain, but learning how to handle it. I got on the scale for the first time since the surgery and technically I am down 18 POUNDS!!! WOO HOOO!! I started at 271 before I started my pre-surgery diet and now I am down to 253. I still have a week of liquids and 2 weeks of mushies to go. This makes all of the pain so much worth it! I know the weight comes off fast in the beginning but it seems to make it all so worth it. It's been over a year since I have been under a deuce and a half, now it will be so much better to get down to a deuce and then onderland! I just had to share my elation with everyone before I go choke down some more Tomato Soup. WOOO HOOOO!!!

Congratulations, Kim! Now, pleae join the weekly scale challenge. The trick is learning to stay off the scale and only use it once a week. (It will save you a lot of stress... really!) You're doing great!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
