I am not completely familiar with the mini like I am RNY. I would definately call your doctor to find out if you should be concerned at this point.

It seems like you should have lost more but you do have to remember that you actually gain weight in the hospital from all the fluids they put in your body and then it takes your body a little time to catch up. I know I gained 13lbs in 3 days but lost that in the first week and then some.

Looking back at my charts I lost a net of 30lbs in month 1 and lost that additional 13 I gained in the hospital.

Now, you do have to remember everyone is different and in the end those that lose less in the beginning will catch up to those that lose more si would not get overly anxious about it but I would call my doctor and ask them your question. They may have some advice for you.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Hi Djmohr....

thnx for your reply.

Actually last week i visited my Doctor and he told me that it is normal that im losing that amount of weight. And that i actually will see some changes after 4 weeks. But i am concerned because reading all these testimony's i have noticed that other people have lost allottt more lbs in the first weeks. I barely eat cuz i get allot of pain..even when i drink Water it sometimes hurts :s

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
