Pureed Stage -- Eggdrop Soup?

Recommended Posts

I am six days out from my surgery and my surgeon puts you on pureed foods on day four. I hate to say this, but I am BORED with the very limited types of stuff we can have, and trying to find ways to make it more interesting. So I was thinking maybe eggdrop Soup, but a variation, basically I would just boil some chicken broth and stick an egg in it and mix thoroughly. Thoughts? My sister said no, that would be too tough but the consistency wouldn't be much different with the egg than a soft boiled, I wouldn't think.

Anyway, any thoughts would be welcome, or suggestions for other foods to try in this stage. Have to do it for another eight days, so input would be great, thanks!

I think your approach would be just fine as long as you already tolerate eggs. I still cannot tolerate eggs and I am now 12 months post op.

At some point you have to give them a try and they are excellent Protein.

Good luck!

I like that idea. I will have to try it when I get to that stage.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
