October List of Surgery's

Recommended Posts

Mine is at 10:30am Thursday. I have the sugar free Popsicles too. But unfortunately for me it's not taking away my desire to eat real food. I'm all in now so I can't look back. Let's go strong for the next 3 days and we will be happy when it's over with. I can't even sleep I'm so nervous about this surgery.

I wanted to wish all of you good luck on your surgery tomorrow. Hope your liquid diet went ok. I also wanted to wish you a smooth and non complicated recovery. Please keep us posted on how you're doing....and I'll do the same.

So far I'm still excited, not nervous yet. However, I think I'm getting a sore throat. I wonder if they'll cancel my surgery???? What do you all think?

Thanks

I don't think they'll cancel it. I'm guessing you'll have some sort of an antibiotic before or afterwards. Good luck

I so agree! I am day 6 preop. I would kill for roasted chicken. I am totally not craving sweets. Between the shakes and bars I am over sweets!!! Hang in there! I have 8 more days. It is taking so much willpower and prayer. We went to a party yesterday with food and drinks.... Ummm I survived and felt so strong about it. It was a day and I keep thinking this is TEMPORARY. I will get to eat again!

I keep telling myself that too. I'm 3 days away from surgery. Not craving any sweets. It's the chicken. I am a meat eater but I usually eat lean white meat. However, I think since my body knows I'm changing the routine, it craves everything I shouldn't be eating. @ I could totally go for some roasted chicken too! But like @@kvoneye said "We Got This!"

@@chavonjb it's tough. My surgeon's staff said it was the first few days that are rough, but for me the whole 2 weeks are almost unbearable. I know I shouldn't be complaining because it's a means to an end, and a life changer for the better, but the struggle through prep is REAL!! You are not alone.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
