rnsamantha 352 Posted September 29, 2015 For me it a number of things. My mom getting diagnosed with diabetes was one because my dad is already diabetic. I felt like my genetics and weight were making diabetes a very likely diagnosis in the future. Also, when I realized that I was dreading a family vacation to Legoland because I wasn't sure I would be able to tolerate walking around all day with the pain in my foot that had become a really big, daily issue. My highest was 278 lbs, and knowing that I was getting really close to 300 lbs was a big factor in doing something permanent as I hadn't been able to maintain weight loss in the past and just kept tacking on regain, plus extra pounds with each dieting attempt. I was at the point that I was afraid to even try to lose weight again for fear of failure and the inevitable regain + that left me heavier than before. Waler 330 Posted September 29, 2015 My highest weight was 345, and I got tired of going out to look for cloths and having to deal with the crappy selection in the big and tall sections. I also got tired of waking up with my knees and back bothering me and that CPAP machine I had to used every night. I tried several time to lose weight and I figured it was time to break out the big weight loss tool in the tool box.
