meganmom 169 Posted September 28, 2015 My six months are up in October (that the insurance requires) and I was wondering about how long after that does it take to usually have the surgery? I see my doctor next week so I will ask him but was just curious what others went through. Thanks!!
Susan66 128 Posted September 28, 2015 I also have a 6 month wait where in that time I need 6 nutrition visits. My Dr's office plans to submit to my insurance co immediately following my last nutrition visit. He has scheduled me with a tentative surgery date 14 days later. magicalwoman 190 Posted September 28, 2015 I am in WA State. I have Uniform Healthcare and I work for the State of WA. I had 6 months supervised weight loss too. I checked in with my primary care Dr. each month to go over what I had done, what I hadn't done, and plans for the next month. My other criteria was I had to weigh less at the end of the 6 months than I did at the beginning, even an ounce less. Just less. I think I remained about the same, maybe lost 1/2 pound. That was in March of 2015. I received the all good thumbs up from my caseworker at the insurance company. They told me I could then make my needed appointments at the Weight Loss Center. I received my letter of final approval in July of 2015 and had my surgery on September 9, 2015. My approval was valid from July 2015 through January 2016. Hope this is helpful.
