Some times I feel like a failure

Recommended Posts

If I am being truly honest, I have to admit that I have been there and I do understand how you are feeling. Even though you may not see it, you have done very well. I am 15 months out and have only lost 60 pounds. I still have 25 to 30 more to go to be at my goal weight. I work out 5 days a week, at least 3 of those days are running days where I run at least 3 miles. I too thought by now I would have been at goal but I’m not so I do feel your pain. However, when I look in the mirror, when I put on my pair of size 12 slacks (some 10’s) as opposed to the size 20’s I used to wear, when I no longer take the 6 meds I was on every day, when I realize I have only had three mini-seizures in the last 15 months instead of the 15 I was having in a week… I realize that I am not a failure. Take a look at the way things have changed for you over the last year... how you feel… how you look and appreciate what you have done so far. There is no time limit on this. You will get there just like I will. You may just have to work a little harder at all. Every time you start to feel like a failure, grab an old pic of yourself then look in the mirror at your new self and smile.

60 pounds gone, is 60 pounds further away from where you once were an that counts for something! Do not let yourself give up. Maybe there are some changes you need to make? increase, or decrease exercise for awhile? Increase Protein? Maybe switch up calorie intake. More or less calories. From what I've heard, when you constantly change you're calories it helps to confuse your metabolism and helps lose weight. Maybe even try speaking with you're surgeon/doctor and the people that worked with you along the way. I haven't had surgery yet. But I know that if in a year from now I'm not where I want to be. I'd hope I'd try my hardest to continue on my way so that someone in my place could see that no matter where you are on your journey, its possible! And I know it is. It IS possible. Do not allow this to get the best of you, but rather push you to exactly where you want to be. You've already made it this far, do not let that be for nothing. Otherwise you will be back to the person you were a year ago, and thats much further away from the person you want to be compared to the person you are right now.

Hope you feel better! and we help to lift your spirit some because we know that you can do it. We want you to believe that to!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
