Dr. Masoud Rezvani at Bluepoint Medical Associates (Virginia)

Recommended Posts

Dr. Rezvani is in the same practice as Dr. Halmi at Blue Point Medical Associates but I cannot find any information about him on the boards here. Has anyone had Dr. Rezvani as their bariatric surgeon? My consult with him is scheduled for Thursday, but without any referrals or reviews, I am second guessing and may want to wait for Dr. Halmi. Thank you for any feedback you have!

After more research and talking to another member on here, Dr. Rezvani used to practice in PA but is now in Virginia. And curiously enough, he worked in the same small town in PA where my husband's family is from - I am calling that a sign! :)

RNYDawn,

How was your experience with Dr. Rezvani? I have my first consult with him on Friday, so I would like to hear about your experience with him.

@@mrsmcm he has been wonderful. I have only seen him twice - once for my consult and once for my endoscopy. I see Dr. Halmi tomorrow and then I'll see Dr. Rezvani again right before my surgery.

He is thorough and at my consult he really talked to me about the options for WLS. We discussed vs. just him telling me what he thought. I feel very comfortable with him. I would not have known I have sleep apnea if he wouldn't have required the sleep study. In which office are you seeing him? I always use the Lake Ridge office and I love it there. The receptionist, Kelly, is fantastic too.

Please let me know if I can help in any way or if you have any questions after you meet with him! :) Good luck!

Sorry I didn't get back to you. I was so busy getting all of my pre op requirements done that I haven't had much time for anything else.

I had my procedure on March 16th! I'm a little over two weeks out and so far so good!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
