ONE MORE SLEEP!! Surgery is tomorrow. I'm waiting on the call to tell me what time to arrive at the hospital. I haven't had to do any sort of pre op diet but I'm on Clear Liquids only, today. I will be drinking the awful magnesium citrate starting at 3 pm. At 5 pm I put on my Nausea parch. I'm excited but extremely nervous. I have a blood clotting issue so if there are any prayer warriors out there, I could use some prayers! Good luck everyone!!

How did things go? I've had a history of blood clots so I totally understand what that's like. It's my main concern going in. I'm being sleeved 12/2. Hope you're doing well!

Good Morning everyone,

Just wanted to report that operation Sleeve is complete :) yay!!!!

Sleeved on Wednesday, checked out of hospital evening,,ride home was horrible :) nausea kicked in..but i made it without puking.

complications are usual, gas and cramping but the meds are holding those issues at bay, providing I take them on time. While recovering the Isopure Protein upset my new stomach causing lots of pain, luckily they had nectar available which agreed more with my new tummy.

Walking the first time hurt pretty bad, this will be day three I can get up with minimal pain, walking around the house is easy...just dealing with stomach gas, hiccups and cramping.. the gas medication takes care of the hiccups and stomach gas..and the cramping meds work but they take about 20min to kick in..

Overall not bad, I can sip Water and my nectar protein I have a home without issue. and i sleep pretty good reclined providing i have taken my cramping and gas meds :)

I will provide more updates as they come

It's ok segula613 it will happen. I have a good friend as a coach and a husband who won't let me quit I probably would not have done that without them. The last month waiting on insurance was HARD I went up 3 lbs during that time. This whole Process is such a head game. Once surgery was scheduled my brain relaxed and I am back down again this time to stay!

Find a support person and tell them to keep going even if you want to quit. My husband is amazing! Slapped me back to reality when I got down. Can't wait for 11/25

Day 3 after surgery and was able to walk outside. Had a rough night as I had a lot of nausea I but otherwise everything going smoothly. I am just tired and still have cramp/gas pain. I have to remember to stay on top of it. For all of you not yet sleeved I highly recommend you crush your pills and mix in Water. I had a really hard time with one of my pills because I didn't crush it. Big mistake. Fine now but was very painful.

Very excited and happy at how smoothly things are going????

Good luck to all of you!!!

Thanks fort the tip mokt, I have had to cut all my pill in either half or quarters and yes the cramping and gas pain could end at any time.. for now every 3-4hrs I pop the gas and cramping meds and it keeps it at bay, its the only way I could get any sleep. Best of luck on day 4.

What is the Pre-op diet and how far before surgery does it start. No one has mentioned it. I'm still waiting for my surgery date. Been waiting since Sep 16th. Something always seems to get screwed up.

I also have a blood clot issue so I have to have a filter placed prior to my WLSG and stop my Coumadin for both.

Mine was Monday 11/9. Came home Wednesday instead of Tuesday due to excessive pain when I tried to drink. Been wandering around the house for 2 days wishing I could have some Soup other than broth. I did manage a whole Protein Shake earlier today. Just ready for time to pass. Back to work Monday. I have to get out soon to buy a scale!

Hi Kcmckee123

My pre-op diet was high Protein, no fruit, no carb, no sugar and no starch diet. In short what I did was

I had a a Protein Shake for Breakfast

one protein shake for lunch

protein shake if I as hungry between 2-3pm (nectar Roadside Lemonade helped)'

Dinner:

all the veggies I wanted usually grilled, for meat protein i selected small oz cuts of steak, fish or chicken

in total no more than about 4-6oz of meat protein at dinner time.

2days before surgery is full liquid diet which was not so bad,, I made tones of different flavored sugar free jello's to make it though.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
