TMG1980TMG 136 Posted September 27, 2015 Forgive me if this is a silly question.... My surgery is on Tuesday (9/29) and just started my period today. This got me thinking every month right before I get cravings for salty and chocolate things... How do you handle this after surgery? Does this still happen? I suppose I can handle the salt craving but chocolate probably won't work for a while if ever!
Tssiemer1 549 Posted September 27, 2015 I'm on my period right now (in the process of switching form Depo to mirena and they want me on my period before they insert it in a few days) and I want a Reece's Cup SO FREAKING BAD I CANT STAND IT. I'm pre op and can have it but I don't want to start giving in. Reece's cups are definitely not on my pre op diet lol. I just want to smell one even. But I'm going to be good and eat string cheese instead.

TMG1980TMG 136 Posted September 27, 2015 On a positive note my period should be over before my surgery on Tuesday! #greattiming
Tssiemer1 549 Posted September 27, 2015 Then you get it again I hear. Forever. It never stops. Ever.
TMG1980TMG 136 Posted September 27, 2015 I really hope that doesn't happen for me.... That would make recovery pretty sucky!

Tssiemer1 549 Posted September 28, 2015 Feel bad for me. I haven't had a period since January and this one has been going on for 2 weeks. I'm switching birth control and they want me on my period for the new. That was a week ago. I'm using tampons and pads every hour and still soaking through underwater and pants. My uterus is angry and it hurts. I asked my husband to hook up my heating blanket so j can just wrap myself up in it and pass out and he made THIS HUGE DEAL out of it. "Haven't you ever had a period before?" My uterus wanted to jump out, dip him in chocolate and eat him.
dhrguru 1,238 Posted September 29, 2015 Omg, while I feel so bad for you, you had me giggling like a school girl. Great visual!
_Brooke_ 45 Posted September 29, 2015 I started my period the day before surgery... go figure! I have pcos and it comes randomly. Lol... anyway. I had some cravings before the surgery, but after the surgery I definitely did not..
TXMissy 211 Posted September 29, 2015 I got mirena 2 months after surgery. It's been a nightmare. I have only been without a period for a total of 2 weeks and 3 weeks since inserted. I'm so over it. Cravings, emotions, and more cravings. Luckily I crave chocolate, but as soon as I taste it the sweetness is too much so I'm over it!
Ashlegal 525 Posted September 30, 2015 @@Tssiemer1 I didn't have a period for three years. The day after surgery (9/10/15) I started and haven't stopped. That's right, I have been on my period for almost three weeks. I have been told by several friends including a few medical professionals that what I am experiencing is normal but it isn't normal to me. I want it to stop! Now! Hear me uterus?! Go hide away like you did before!
