Forgive me if this is a silly question....

My surgery is on Tuesday (9/29) and just started my period today. This got me thinking every month right before I get cravings for salty and chocolate things... How do you handle this after surgery? Does this still happen? I suppose I can handle the salt craving but chocolate probably won't work for a while if ever!

I'm on my period right now (in the process of switching form Depo to mirena and they want me on my period before they insert it in a few days) and I want a Reece's Cup SO FREAKING BAD I CANT STAND IT. I'm pre op and can have it but I don't want to start giving in. Reece's cups are definitely not on my pre op diet lol. I just want to smell one even. But I'm going to be good and eat string cheese instead.

On a positive note my period should be over before my surgery on Tuesday!

I really hope that doesn't happen for me.... That would make recovery pretty sucky!

Feel bad for me.

I haven't had a period since January and this one has been going on for 2 weeks. I'm switching birth control and they want me on my period for the new.

That was a week ago.

I'm using tampons and pads every hour and still soaking through underwater and pants. My uterus is angry and it hurts.

I asked my husband to hook up my heating blanket so j can just wrap myself up in it and pass out and he made THIS HUGE DEAL out of it.

"Haven't you ever had a period before?"

My uterus wanted to jump out, dip him in chocolate and eat him.

Omg, while I feel so bad for you, you had me giggling like a school girl. Great visual!

I started my period the day before surgery... go figure! I have pcos and it comes randomly. Lol... anyway. I had some cravings before the surgery, but after the surgery I definitely did not..

I got mirena 2 months after surgery. It's been a nightmare. I have only been without a period for a total of 2 weeks and 3 weeks since inserted. I'm so over it. Cravings, emotions, and more cravings. Luckily I crave chocolate, but as soon as I taste it the sweetness is too much so I'm over it!

I didn't have a period for three years. The day after surgery (9/10/15) I started and haven't stopped. That's right, I have been on my period for almost three weeks.

I have been told by several friends including a few medical professionals that what I am experiencing is normal but it isn't normal to me.

I want it to stop! Now! Hear me uterus?! Go hide away like you did before!

Oh jeez that has to suck!! I haven't stopped either, but I figured it's because of the blood thinner they gave me in the hospital..

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
