First NSV (non-scale victory)

Recommended Posts

At 12 days post-op I experienced my first NSV today. As my size has yo-yo'ed over the years I have all sizes of clothes in my closet, with shirts from (men's) size 16 1/2 up to size 19. I was very pleased to find that I now fit comfortably into an 18 1/2, and almost a size 18. My NSV was packing up all of my size 19 shirts to give to charity.

Not quite yet ready to drop down a pant size but hoping that will come in another week or two. Anyway, the first NSV feels very good!

Congrats! Doesn't that feel great to let go of a piece of your closet and know that they were too big? Way to go!! I know you feel great so far!

Yay! You will soon find yourself a point where even the smallest stuff you have doesn't fit : )

Congratulations! I spent a good part of this morning packing up all my 3X shirts and trying to find 2X shirts to wear.

I've also packed up several pairs of jeans and dress pants. I am going to need some new pants and belts soon.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
