kaysunshine 47 Posted September 26, 2015 When can I have any sauces. Hot sauce is what I'm concerned with.

Miss Mac 6,262 Posted September 26, 2015 Ii was able to do mild sauce at six weeks. I tried jalapeno poppers at six months and was miserable for a couple of days. No more for me.
Bufflehead 6,358 Posted September 26, 2015 I started adding Sriracha to my chicken broth within a couple of days of surgery and never looked back. It never gave me any problems. That said, I have been eating very spicy food my entire life and it never gave me any trouble before surgery either.
Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted September 26, 2015 I used siracha during my liquid phase, too. I eat jalapeño, Cajun seasoning, and siracha all the time now, just not in large quantities.
liannatx 897 Posted September 26, 2015 I join the others in enjoying spicy foods, salsa, and hot sauce. I have eaten them since about 4 weeks out. I was spicing up broths/soups after the first week. I never had an issue, but I also take an acid blocker daily.
lauraellen80 855 Posted September 27, 2015 I actually seem to have a greater tolerance for spicy food now than I did before surgery for some reason. I got a spicy tofu dish at a Chinese restaurant awhile back (I think I was about 6 weeks out from surgery), and when my husband tried a bite, he couldn't believe I was able to eat it... but it didn't seem that spicy to me! BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted September 27, 2015 Another siracha eater here. I love all things spicy. I think people are warned against it because of concerns with acid. It was never an issue for me.
