July 07 EXERCISE

Tueday, 24th

NOT a damn thing. Took another day off. I was so sore on Monday night after doing over an hour of strength training and then riding 15 miles that night. I took Tues. off.

Wednesday 25th

a.m. strength training on bowflex.

p.m. 15 miles ride on bike....BUT not a road bike!!!! Dang it!!

ok, so nothing since tuesday, but I saw the doc yesterday and she filled me. she wants me to do 2 days of liquids, then 1 day of mushies so she told me not to work out till I get back on regular food. hopefully this weekend I can get in a gym session, I actually kind of miss it!

ok ok, I ignored the doc...just came back from a 40 minute walk around the neighborhood. Got a good sweat going on. And I don't feel dizzy or weak or anything. Maybe I'll try the gym tomorrow, after all I will be able to eat mushy food...

Thursday 26th

Nothing again!!!! WHAT IS GOING ON HERE????? The plan was to do a 15 mile ride this evening, but we ended up out to dinner with DH high school friend. Didn't plan on being gone that long, but it was dark when we got home. NOW I am out my bike ride, and not all too happy about it!! It just shows you that if I don't push myself to do the exercise, NO ONE WILL!!!!! This is really messing with my head. It is like the littler I get, the less I feel like doing it. Like the old diet mentality, oh well, I blew it so I might as well just keep on eating now!!!

Ok, I am done feeling sorry for myself. Going camping this weekend, so won't be getting in any bike riding. That really sucks!!

Ok, so I was a little ambitious last night, no gym this morning...maybe I'll go for a walk tonight though.

areellady - you need to get your butt in gear!!! Maybe while camping you can walk around the grounds??? You are such an inspiration to me...you need to work it girl!

I think its time to set some goals for august...I have been watching everyone and their tickers, I think its high time I got one. But first I need a goal for August!

jm, how about 10 pounds for Aug. That is about 2 pounds a week. If you work it really hard, you can do it!!!! I am doing a challenge that lasts through labor day. Started it in July. I have 10.5 more to get to my goal for that. SOOOO, I will do the 10 pound challenge with you for August. Do you think that is too little? We can do more.

Friday 27th

a.m. 9.72 mile bike ride, one hour strength training on Bowflex

the rest of the weekend, I am going to use the bathroom that is way up the boat ramp...and I mean WAY UP THE BOAT RAMP!! So I will be working my butt off literally!!!!!

Let me tell you...If I don't lose 10lbs this month, everyone around me is going to be bruised!!!! Ha! I haven't lost 1lb in over a month. August better be my month! I'll take you up on that challenge. I just got a fill and I'm going to be a gym rat so I am ready!

I would like to also get at least another 10 lbs off by the end of August, but there are 5 weeks that month, so maybe more.

My goal is to get to 270, and get in 130 miles. Biking and or walking.

hoosierpoms - come on and join us!!! I would like to lose a total of 60lbs by my 6 month anniversary, which is sept 5, but I'm not sure thats going to happen. I still need to lose 19lbs...

Ok so Sat the 28th....55(!) minutes on elliptical trainer (600 calories burned) and 35 minutes on the stationary bike for 7 1/2 miles (225 calories burned). I am so psyched! I hope I can get to the gym tomorrow....

hello

I had joined te July challenge and today I am almost 40 miles over my goal of 100 miles.

I rode 19.78 today and am real happy to be back home....MY BUTT HURTS

Anyway

ok, sun the 29th - 35min stationary bike (7 1/2 miles) 202 calories and 45min elliptical 550 calories

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
