The absolute earliest I can have surgery is Nov 13, however it probably won't be until Dec 2nd or 9th. I want it now I'm so ready to start this journey. What is the best advice I should have being two months out?

@@cookies_queen - I agree with @ start working towards the pre-op diet and go from there.

Getting use to drinking after eating/or before is a tough one as well as eliminating caffeine pre-surgery.

Find out if you have to lose a certain amount of weight or if your insurance will negate your surgery if you lose too much ~ before you jump in too deep too early.

Good luck!

I'm 5"1 and I weigh 235 so I can't lose more than 16 lbs or my BMI will not be where my insurance requires it to be. I have started trying to stop drinking while I eat.. Man that's tough. I have also decided to chew more... I didn't realize how fAst I ate before. I am two weeks soda free not a tough one... I am drinking coffee everyday but I have cut back to one maybe two cups rather than like 4. Small steps right? I have stopped eating Snacks that aren't fruit. Next week I'm going to start doing shakes for Breakfast. I'm really excited and motivated I just hope the wait... To lose weight doesn't become my enemy.

Sounds like you are doing great. Agree with everything you are doing so far. You can also research things to eat at each of your plan's stages (soft foods etc). Find tasty ways to get through it.

If you haven't already, find a Protein shake flavor or two that you like. Get an inexpensive food scale so you can measure after surgery.

2 months will go by before you know it! Good luck!

@@cookies_queen - your taste buds sometimes change too so I wouldn't load up on too much on any one particular item. If you do hang on to the receipts so you can return them. I didn't experience a big difference in taste pre versus post. I NEVER liked the taste of SF popsicles. The SF Jello was "so so" before surgery and made me gag post, so the little pack of four I managed to eat over about a 2-3 month stretch. The unflavored Protein from powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury is great because you can add it to a lot of things.

JUST GO AHEAD AND TELL YOURSELF TO CHILL OUT. I HAD TO WAIT WAY WAY WAY LONGER THAN THAT AFTER MY SURGERY WAS APPROVED. IT WAS A LONG HARD ROAD BUT IT WILL REALLY BE HERE BEFORE YOU KNOW IT.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
