Unflavored protein?

Recommended Posts

Anyone have success adding unflavored Protein Powder to hot or cold drinks or foods? My diet is very limited and I am concerned about getting in Protein in for Hair loss purposes. I bought Isopure unflavored. Tips? recipes? I am taking only clear fluids and Protein Shakes and yogurt at this point.

Isopure unflavored is the best I put it in everything. Water. Crystal light. Soup. (I'm on my liquid diet right now) it goes in applesauce, literally anything that's liquid it goes in for me.

I am using the Syntrax unflavored and it doesn't seem to have a taste to me.

@@jennolsen - have you had your surgery or on the pre-op diet?

@@LoseItKacy - I am on my pre-op diet as well.

Hope things are going well for you both :)

I bought the GNC unflavored but I have yet to use it. I just can't imagine that it really doesn't change the taste of things. I have to decide soon if I'm gonna keep it or take it back.

I use the Isopure. I emailed the company to verify that heating it would not denature the Protein. I use it in pretty much everything. I add it to tea, I really like adding it to Soup or vegetable broth. I mix it with yogurt, and I've even mixed it with egg salad & my scrambled eggs prior to cooking. It's a nice protein boost. It was really helpful in the early full liquids stage it was especially helpful. Instead of drinking 3 shakes a day, I did 2 shakes and then in the even I would have veg broth with unflavored protein powder added. It was a nice break from all the sweet of the shakes.

Nowadays if I have a day where I may be running around I put a scoop in a small container in my bag. Then I can grab any beverage along the way and add it to make sure I'm getting in my protein.

How big is the scoop, and for how many grams of Protein?

Honestly I just put enough in so it blends well. 1/4-1/2 a scoop. In drinks I will put more.

I use Unjury plain Protein powder in tea, broth and Gelatin. It clouds the gelatin giving it a creamy look and doesn't affect the taste in my tea. I make the gelatin using 2 cups SF juice, 2 Knox gelatin packets and 1 scoop of protein.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
