October 5 is my date I am desperately waiting patiently(oxymoron, I know). Pre op diet is not that bad I'm doing crystal light and non starchy veggies with salads and fat free dressing. then 2 days before clear liquid diet and I will be on my way to WLS victory. My SW 298 before preoperative diet. I been looking at YouTube and most of the Vsg people say don't re introduce carbs back in your life and have a excersize routine. What do guys think?

I agree with them. That has worked well for me, and when I stray from that plan, things turn into a disaster. However, everyone is different and even if those rules work well for a lot of people, there are some people who need to, or can, do things differently.

Agree. I also made a pact with myself to stay away from soda and sugary coffee drinks. Add those to the list under carbs.

I did the exact same as @@bookworm I cut out all caffeine, all carbonated beverages and all carbs. While I might still have a bite of something, I actively carbs.

As far as excerise goes, I go to spin class twice a week and love it. I also bought a fibit and walk 10K steps per day so that keeps me on track too.

Just find the things that work for you and stick to them. Good luck!

Good luck on your upcoming surgery!! It is a wonderful life changing tool.

I avoided carbs like the plague until I was very close to goal. I have since introduced healthy carbs (fruits, whole grains) in moderation back into my diet. I log everything I eat and that has helped me find what works best for me. I even have an occasional treat.

As I lost weight I began to exercise. I go to the gym, but have a new found love for hiking and kayaking!!

I too am walking the straight and narrow with carbs. And introducing an exercise routine ASAP is paramount to achieving the best results. Sounds like you're off to a terrific start!

I have avoided carbs too and try to stick to under 20 a day.. Sometimes I manage under 10. I do carb cycling at weekends and try to stick to under 50. It works for me ????

I am doing better each day but the first day is roughest by far. Pain meds helped a ton. I'm in my third day out and feeling much better. Have not had solid food in five days and have zero hunger pains.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
