Did you do a pre-op diet? It seems the patients who have lost the most weight are the one who did a 2 week pre-op diet.

How many carbs are you eating in a day? Eating too many carbs will prevent you from losing weight.

Neither you of you shared enough info for me to give you targeted advice/feedback. The obvious is are you logging/tracking, following your program, are you active/exercising, getting plenty of Water etc etc etc.

Example, if you started low BMI, you won't lose as many pounds as someone who started very high BMI so it helps to know a bit more and you might get some tips that will help you.

I had my surgey oct 12 2014. I have lost 35 stinking lbs in a year. !! I feel so frustrated and a failure

Try speaking with your doctor. Most likely you are consuming too many carbs. Did you go on the pre-op diet and if so, for how long? From what I can tell the patients who lost the most weight went on a 2 week pre-op diet before surgery. I lost 25 lbs just on my pre-op diet alone. Now, when I hit a weight loss stall I immediately go back on the pre-op liquid diet until the pounds start dropping again.

I am not eating too many carbs but I am not getting all of the required Protein. I did not have a pre-op diet. I see my doctor next week. I have blood work tomorrow to make sure I am taking enough Vitamins. I like the idea of going back to the liquid diet although it's probably not the healthiest solution.

@@Carole61 if you are low BMI, your losses are right on track. Don't compare yourself to high BMI people, or to men as circumstances lead to different results.

Try logging your carbs. You may be surprised by how much you are truly eating.

The pre-op diet is not designed for long-term use. It's just to jump start the weight loss process and shrink the liver. Since your didn't do a pre-op diet you missed out on this.

Also, note that your exercise and activity level also plays a part.

(Note: My doctor said no more than 50 grams of carbs on the pre-op diet.)

Watch you Water too... I can actually trace by weight stalls to the weeks/ days I was low on my fluids. also check when you period hits... I usually stall the week before my period.

This sounds completely average. You are on-track.

#carole61. I had surgery two weeks after you. At a 2.5 week stall. Lost about the same, barely get in carbs and workout consistently. But as others have posted, my old clothes fit. I'm just hoping the scale catches up to that. I'm trying to not depend on the scale as my only source. It really screws with your head.

If you aren't getting in enough protein that can play a large part in why you are losing. What was your weight when you started? What is a typical eating day for you?

Sleeved on 7/29, close to your date. Lost 25 since surgery. Watch carbs, Protein, cals, and Fluid, it is just the rate my body has decided to lose. Had the 3 week stall, now losing 2-3 lbs a weeks.

Also, I love the CupANoodles. Sometimes I cant just drink the broth. I sometimes eat half the noodles. Is that ok if I chew the soft noodles really good, do you think thats ok?

I was sleeved the same day as you and have lost 27. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
