There's not many out there. Sometimes at a restaurant when I don't want Water, I can get Light Pink Lemonade but what else is there? Unsweetened tea I guess.

Is it weird if I get a water and add Crystal Light to it?

What do you drink when you don't want water?

Uh ... post-op you don't drink with meals.

In restaurants I just order Water and then don't drink it.

@Tssiemer1 WHEN I GO OUT I WILL TAKE A PACK OF CYRSTAL LIGHT WITH ME AND ADD IT TO THE Water. IVE NEVER HAD ANYONE LOOK AT ME FUNNY OR SAY ANYTHING. iVE ALSO SEEN A LADY I WORK WITH ORDER Water AND ABOUT 6 LEMON PIECES ADD SPLENDA AND MAKE HER OWN VERSION OF LEMONAID . I DO NOT DRINK WHILE I EAT BUT I DO GO TO RESTAURANTS AND NOT EAT ONLY DRINK. ( LIKE WHEN OTHERS ARE HUNGRY BUT I AM NOT. ) AND ITS NICE TO HAVE SOMETHING OTHER THAN WATER TO DRINK.

Sorry I was not clear. I go out with my friends or co workers and have a Protein Shake before and order nothing at all. I'm pre op. Those Protein Shakes make me very thirsty though.

I like Crystal Light but most times just drink Water. I cut out all caffeine too so don't do tea or coffee.< /p>

I don't drink when I eat...ever. I still wait the 30 mins before and after BUT when I do drink anything it's always Water with flavor drops added or coffee. That's It. I'm boring. Oh and sometimes sugarless tea. :) not much help huh?!

I love lemon Water but if I didn't I would bring my own drink and ask for a glass of ice. My favorite flavored water is sparkling ice.

@@Veronica_mm I drink fully caffeinated coffee, but you should check with your own medical team for their instructions. There is no wls-wide standard advice when it comes to coffee and tea.

I see nothing wrong with adding crystal light to your drink. I carry mine in my purse at all times. If anyone questions you just explain. I am sure they would understand.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
