Dr. Fox did my band. I just had my band removed and sleeve surgery Aug 11 thru the Nicholson clinic. If I could go back I wouldn't have went thru Fox. He didn't seem to care about my struggles or weight loss. I love the Nicholson clinic. Check them out. I now have Dr. Carlton. He is amazing and his staff care!!

Kaysunshine, thank you so much for the insight. That makes me feel MUCH better about the hospital choice. I'm very sorry you experienced so much pain :( That sounds horrid! There are no statistics on your profile, but i sincerely hope your weight is melting off, and that that is making up for some of that pain :)

My doctor is Dr. Carlton and I absolutely love him!! He isn't stuffy and uptight like a lot of doctors I've been to in the past. My surgery from band to sleeve was Monday and although I'm pretty sore , the whole experience has been perfect!!

I had my sleeve with Dr. Fox on 9/23 and it went great. While in surgery he followed up with my family several times and he personally called me a couple of days later to check up on me. He answered all my questions before surgery and made sure I understood the whole procedure. He made my husband and I feel comfortable. My hubby wasn't very supportive about surgery but once he talked to Dr. Fox he was on board.

I am doing great! No pain! Getting all my liquids in and Protein. The only thing I didn't like is that he won't let you have anything until you get your xray done to make sure you don't have any leaks.

My surgery was 9/23 at 830am and the xray was done until 9/24 around 11am. He said no Water, no ice chips! Nothing!

& the other thing I liked with him is that I didn't have to be on an all liquid diet for two weeks before surgery.

Dr. Fox is my surgeon also. I think he and his staff are very caring, knowledgeable and personable. Everything has gone well. And, I got ice chips between surgery and xray the next day.

His followup includes lots of questions and advice.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
