I am 3 1/2 months out from surgery and have lost 37 pounds including pre-op diet. I am definately a slow loser but my hair is great and even at 62 years, my skin is keeping up...sort of. I feel great and at 168, my clothing size is just about changing every 2 weeks. I have relaxed into the journey and no longer have that sense of impatience. I realized that unlike any other "diet" I have ever been on, this is a lifestyle change and I will never be able toeat the way I once did. Might as well sit back and enjoy the ride!

Thank God I'm not alone! I lost 25 pre-surgery (over 4 months of diet changes) & 25 since. . .stalled for almost 2 weeks. I was sleeved 8/12 and starting to wonder why. Will this end?? :(

Well I officially handed over the batteries to my scales to my husband this morning I can't take it any more! I have been meaning to do that for a week, but i kept postponing it, but after gaining a lb over night after weeks of barely loosing anything I've had enough!

I will buy myself a wrist pedometer on my way home from work and concentrating on upping my steps daily as goals instead and see if i can switch my concentration to that and see how long i can go without cracking my resolve to weigh in!

I am a revision from Lapband and I am a slow loser too. I have averaged 1.5 lbs a week, but it has stayed pretty consistent. I am not disappointed at all! I feel great, and since it has been slow but STEADY I know the weight will continue to come off. I think of it like the Turtle and the Hare.... I might not get to goal as fast as some, but I will still get there.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
