NSV -- Bathing Suit

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved April 20 and was able to get back into the pool in mid-May. I initially wore the bathing suit I had left over from the end of last season. My birthday was in June so I ordered two suits for my birthday. One a size lower than last year's, and the second a size lower than that. Today, I finally tried on the second suit and it fit!

For someone who started as such a high weight as I did there is a lot of room between bathing suit sizes so I consider this a big deal!

Now, I need to watch the sales and order the next two sizes down do I will be prepared.

I've been buying new suit like every 2 -3 months. (I do Water aerobics for fitness). I gone through 4 suits since being sleeved and am noticing the latest one is getting saggy.

Try a google search for plus size bathing suit and you'll find everything. That way you can choose the style of what you want to wear. Speedo and many others put out larger suits.

For exercise I buy the krinkle cut swim suits. They have a built in bra, support for tummy control and do not fade. I buy them from swimoutlet or just my size.

I have been able to find good suits from Woman Within. They seem to have a wider range of available sizes than most.

I like getting the 2-piece tankini's because 1) I have trouble getting 1-pieces over my legs and hips, and 2) you can buy different size tops and bottoms if you need to.

I came back to this post to see when I posted it. I just got into the next size down! So, that makes four bathing suits since I started this process!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
