IncredibleShrinkingMan 437 Posted September 21, 2015 I was on the morning schedule but due to delays it ended up being in the afternoon. I didn't really wake up for real in the recovery unit and the first I was really with it was in my nursing floor...and it was after 7 pm. All I really noticed was wanting to go back to bed right away and nurses coming in to give me various things. I think it actually helped, otherwise, I would've slept through the entire day and been up all night. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
OutsideMatchInside 10,166 Posted September 21, 2015 (edited) I had surgery in the afternoon. I think it is better than the morning just because you don't have to worry about oversleeping. I had to be at the hospital by 12:30 and I was in the operating room around 2pm. Drink all the Water you can tonight, try to drown yourself. samuelsmom 670 Posted September 21, 2015 (edited) I was the last case of the day- into surgery at around 3:30 PM. Got to my room around 6PM. Actually worked great. I had the night to rest as much as I could- did get up every 4 hours to walk. In the morning I was up walking at least hourly and slowly sipping fluids. I would also check with my surgeon's office about the "nothing by mouth" after midnight. Since my surgery was not until 3:30, I was able to have a Protein shake and other liquids before 6AM. Jazziegrl 12 Posted September 24, 2015 Well I am back home. I had a textbook surgery. The only pain I have is gas pain that decided to rest in my diaphragm and moves to my back. Other then that, I feel good just tired Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
