MzB 297 Posted September 21, 2015 I just got a call from my doctor's office with lab results from my 4 month check-up. I was told that my Protein is too high and I should back off of it. I have been very good about getting in 80 g of protein a day, but rarely go over 100. I am really surprised at this directive since everything I read/hear always says to get 80-100 protein. able2cope 193 Posted September 21, 2015 I've not been told that my Protein levels have been too high - but I have had too much Protein in my kidneys - perhaps its the same thing? Anyway, I was given ramirpril to counteract this... I spoke to my dietician, and told her about the protein in kidneys - she did say to back off the high protein diet and go more for a 'healthy' diet.... Thanks so much for the feedback! I have been so focused on getting all my protein in I never focused on there being a down side. Lol. I am going to take it down to 60-70 and see how it goes.
